At this time we have filled all available openings, however additional volunteers may be placed if another volunteer has a change in plans or you may be placed with a member of the District Office staff to observe how a department works at the central level. ***
Principal for a Day offers you the chance to get an inside look at San Juan Unified's schools by joining the principal of the school on the morning of Nov. 8.
What is Principal for a Day?
Principal for a Day is a chance to create connections between local community leaders and school communities. Volunteer Principals will join school's actual principals for a morning of greeting students, observing classroom instruction and taking part in events on campus. The morning will wrap up by gathering all princiapls and principal for a day volunteers together for a celebratory luncheon at the Citrus Heights Community Center.
Who is involved?
We're looking for any and all interested community leaders who want to get an inside look at the incredible work being done in our schools on a daily basis. School principals will host volunteers for the morning while the afternoon luncheon will give volunteers a chance to interact with each other, District leaders and Board members.
When is Principal for a Day?
The event will be held on Nov. 8. Volunteers will need to be at their assigned school at least 15 minutes prior to the start of school (Between 7:15 and 8:15 a.m.)
The luncheon will begin at noon a.m. and conclude no later than 1:30 p.m.
Where can I serve as a Principal for a Day?
Volunteers will be assigned to an available school. Requests for a specific school will be accepted but we cannot guarantee placement at the school requested. All SJUSD schools are participating including our special education and adult education sites.
The luncheon will be held at Citrus Heights Community Center.
